OMG it's Finished

My OMG for March is finished and OMG I love it.

I am so happy with how it has turned out and yes my Wild Quilting is not perfect but does that worry me-not at all! It is the first time I have actually stitched feathers on a quilt and they turned out better than I expected.
It is quilted totally freehand with Glide thread top and bobbin.
It is going to be hard to put his in the post but not to worry I have been asked to make another one for  one of my colleagues first grandchild who will be born in a few months.
Now a bit of a photo overload but as this is my record of the quilt you can choose whether to keep looking or close out now!

And the back although it does not photograph as well I hoped. It does look great-and yes it is quite bright.
And now to decide my April OMG project.

OMG March Goal

My goal this month is get this Elephant quilt quilted and bound and on it's way to it's little recipient. I now have a request to make another one but in different colours.

As it is the second day of  March here, and I have managed to get quite a bit of quilting done  I am hopeful I can meet my goal.
I have never really been confident enough to quilt feathers before-oh I have all the books, have
got Craftsy classes and have drawn them out a lot but never thought I could quilt them (and in fact have to admit never really liked them that much!!). Well I came across Natalia Bonner's Swirly Feather and also have her new book 'Next Steps in Machine Quilting' that has this design in it so I thought this was the quilt to give it ago, and I'm liking them. I also got Bethanne Nemesh's class on iQuilt -If you can Feather you can Freehand, which is great and so here I go!!

February Finish and March Goal Begun

I was too late posting to link up my February Goal to OMG, but I set my goal to have this one quilted and bound and it is done and ready to go to it's new home next week.

Lovely minkee dot on the back. I had another longarmer say to me the other day that she couldn't believe I used minkee on the back of the baby quilts as she had always had problems with it so never uses it. I told her that when I first used it I never knew it could cause problems so just went on ahead and quilted merrily along. I have to say I have never had an issue, so am I lucky or what??
On the machine now is the elephant quilt and the doodling has begun-
